Background of the Creators

Ketya Un

Waterloo, Belgium

Ketya UN is a master student at Vrije Universiteit of Brussels, major in Educational Sciences. She is holding two bachelor degrees, one in Law and one in Education, both obtained from her home country .In the past 5 years, she worked at the World Health Organization in Cambodia.  After She left her country 7 years ago, she has met people from a variety of cultures, and different educational background, mostly from South and North America and from Europe. Since then, she has discovered that education is a powerful way to reach out to the others, to embrace new horizons, in brief to become self-achieving. She realized that education is not just about getting degrees and credentials, but it is rather a continued path to freedom and independent thinking. This continued process of acquiring new knowledge should take place everywhere, beyond the boundary of schools and classrooms. Finally, to reach critical thinking imposes challenging ourselves with hard and core knowledge, which are not necessarily to learn.
